DDC BOX · SMALL AUTOMATION

One box. One tedious task less.

A small computer with a camera or sensors takes over a task that comes back every day: logging temperatures, handing out keys, counting machine output. Standard parts instead of a big project, no rebuild of your equipment. The analysis runs inside the box; only figures and alerts go online.

For each box we are looking for three pilot businesses in Germany.

THREE BOXES TO START WITH

One task per box.
With the status of what already runs.

Each box solves one clearly defined task. What already runs is marked; for the rest we are looking for pilot businesses.

FOOD SERVICE

Refrigeration monitored, portions counted

Probes in fridges and cold rooms measure around the clock. The box keeps the temperature log for your food safety checks digitally and alerts you as soon as a unit gets too warm. On request, the same box counts finished portions with the kitchen camera.

HANDOVER

Hand over keys around the clock

A cabinet with electronically locked compartments: your customer receives a code by SMS, the right compartment opens, every handover and return is logged. For locksmiths, garages, holiday flats and property managers.

PRODUCTION

Older machines report their output, without modification

A camera looks at the signal tower and the output from the outside. The box detects running, idle and fault states, counts parts and sends output and downtime to a dashboard or by messenger. The machine’s controls and wiring stay untouched.

WHAT IS INSIDE THE BOX

Standard parts you can buy again.

No special device that only we can repair. The parts are available from any electronics retailer; we set up the software for your task.

01

Computer

Raspberry Pi 5 with an AI accelerator: recognises images inside the box, without the cloud.

02

Eyes and sensors

Camera, temperature probe, door or current sensor, depending on the task.

03

Alert and action

Message by messenger or email, a dashboard with history, and on request a relay that opens a lock.

PILOT PHASE

Three pilot places per box.

We first set up each box at three businesses and measure what it achieves. After that it goes into regular operation.

01

Free first check

30 to 60 minutes in a video call: task, location, network. Then a fixed price for the pilot.

02

Set-up in two to four weeks

Configure the box, install it on site, set up alerts and the dashboard for your team.

03

Measurement report

After four weeks: what the box detected, where it was wrong and whether regular operation pays off.

MORE TASKS

The same box can do more.

Ideas we can build with the same technology. No pilot yet, so on request.

  • Read water, gas or electricity meters with a camera
  • Fill level of containers, silos and shelf bins
  • Humidity and leaks in warehouses and basements
  • Counting incoming goods at the loading dock
  • Cold chain for medicines in pharmacies
FAQ

Before we start.

What does a box cost?

The hardware usually costs a few hundred euros. For the pilot we quote a fixed price after the free first check, before you decide.

Does the box need internet?

For alerts, yes: via Wi-Fi, network cable or a mobile data stick. The analysis itself runs inside the box.

Does the food service box replace HACCP self-checks?

No. It measures, documents and reports deviations automatically; responsibility and corrective action stay with the business. We clarify in the first check which records your food inspection authority expects.

Does the machine box interfere with my machine?

No. The camera looks at the signal tower and the output from the outside. Controls and wiring stay untouched.

What happens to the camera images?

The images are analysed inside the box; figures and alerts are transmitted. Where employees are in view, we agree the use with you and, if there is one, with the works council.

Who is the contracting party?

M2D GmbH, Am Turm 11, 53721 Siegburg, Germany.

THE NEXT STEP

What should work better in your business?

Tell us about a process that takes up your team’s time. We discuss where automation could help and what is needed to define the next step.

Useful details: which box, where it should go, whether there is Wi-Fi or power and a photo of the spot.
